Courteney Cox Shared a Touching Tribute to Matthew Perry

Courteney Cox is remembering Matthew Perry one year following his tragic passing. The Friends actress, who played Perry’s on-screen love interest in the show, took to Instagram on October 28—one calendar year after his death—to share a sweet tribute message to the late star.

“Missing you today and always @matthewperryfoundation,” she wrote before adding a heart emoji on the social media app. The caption was posted alongside a touching picture of the pair sharing an intimate look in front of a rolling camera.

Cox’s tribute comes after fellow Friends cast member, Jennifer Aniston, made a tribute of her own. Aniston kept her message simple, too, sharing a picture of her with Perry on Instagram; “1 year ❤️‍🕊️,” Aniston wrote.

Following Perry’s death in 2023, the Friends cast shared a statement revealing that they were  “utterly devastated” to learn of their co-star’s passing. Cox later penned an individual tribute on her Instagram, stating that she was “so grateful for every moment I had” with Perry and that she misses him every day.”When you work with someone as closely as I did with Matthew, there are thousands of moments I wish I could share. For now here’s one of my favorites,” she captioned an outtake from a scene she and Perry filmed as Chandler and Monica. “To give a little backstory, Chandler and Monica were supposed to have a one night fling in London. But because of the audience’s reaction, it became the beginning of their love story. In this scene, before we started rolling, he whispered a funny line for me to say. He often did things like that. He was funny and he was kind.”

In May, Cox revealed on CBS Mornings that even though Perry is no longer with her, she feels connected to him in spirit, noting that he sometimes visits her.

“You know, I talk to my mom, my dad, Matthew—I feel like there are a lotta people that are, I think, that guide us,” she explained. “I do sense, yeah, I sense Matthew’s around, for sure.”
